Who Cannot Use Vibration Plates? Our Guide Here!

Are Vibration Plates Safe To Use For Everyone?

Vibration plates are usually quite safe. However, they should not be used by those with cardiovascular conditions or balancing problems.

When searching for an all-around machine that can be used by most people, many turn to vibration machines. But what if you are injured? pregnant? or suffering from a serious sickness?

Quite often medical professionals recommend gentle exercise for a variety of patients. But would vibration plates be suitable for everyone?

The dangers involved in a piece of equipment are often not made known to the general public. This is why we are going to break down the different reasons why vibration plates may not be suitable for some so you can determine if they are ideal or not for you.

What if you have heart problems?

If you have medical issues related to the circulation of your blood, there could be possible dangers in using a vibration plate. Since the machine is designed to raise your pulse and increase your heartbeat it can be hazardous to your health.

This includes people who have deep vein thrombosis, stroke victims, those with blood clotting issues, or some other kind of heart disease. There are also some risks involved for those who have high blood pressure.

If you have a pacemaker, it does not mean you cannot use a vibration machine, however, you should get your doctor’s approval first.

Many of the aforementioned possible dangers are not unusual. They are also risks when partaking in other forms of exercise. It is not that vibration plates are at all menacing to people with these problems but rather that those with these conditions need to take great care when doing any form of exercise.

Since diabetes also affects the heart muscle and advanced stages can lessen the blood flow to your feet, it is also worthy of mention. Before using vibration plates with any kind of cardiovascular condition, you should first check with a medical expert.

What if you have an orthopedic injury?

Those with musculoskeletal injuries could do further damage to their existing body trauma by using a vibration plate.

If you have recently had surgery, a strain, tear, or serious wound, then the vibrations that these machines cause could aggravate your injury further. The vibrations are fast and could leave a muscle contracted, scarred, or damaged to a larger extent.

Anyone who has recently experienced an orthopedic injury should check with their doctor how long they have to wait before continuing their exercise routine. This also includes those that have pins, fasteners, or bolts in their body as the vibration could dislodge or displace them.

If you had stitches, your doctor will tell you that you need to limit your body movement to give it a chance to heal. Vibration plates are not the exception. Using a vibration machine whilst you have stitches could result in tearing them wide open. Certainly, that would not be pretty.

What about during your pregnancy?

Studies on the effects of vibrations on pregnant women and their fetuses are not conclusive.

Some medical professionals will claim that vibrations including heavy machinery can induce early labor and provide an underdeveloped child. However, when you examine further into the evidence there is no obvious factual data to be found. Simply put, there is no proof.

Some other medics claim that vibrations cause no harm to the pregnant woman or her child and do not have any negative side effects.

A common consensus found, is… If you choose to use vibration plates, it would be a good idea to avoid using them in the last 2-3 months of your pregnancy.

However, there are several myths and unsupported ideas that abound on this subject. Unfortunately, the scientific research does not appear to have found a strong case either way. Some doctors make strong claims but do not have sufficient evidence to back them up.

Until the scientific community reaches a conclusive decision on the matter, it is likely prudent to avoid using vibration plates whilst pregnant.

Are vibration plates suitable for most people?

Vibration plates are a good and safe exercise option for most individuals. The physical exertion is not too strenuous and does not last too long which lends itself to be ideal for many types of people.

The exceptions given in this article do apply but are also not unique to the use of vibration plates. The conditions and circumstances mentioned as not being suitable for the use of vibration plates can also apply to many other forms of exercise.

If you are unsure whether or not you should use vibration plates we highly recommend that you consult your general practitioner and follow their counsel. However, if you do not fit any of the categories mentioned, then it is likely that vibration plates are just the right machine for you.
